This Amazon review that's going viral is a brilliant fake

A “mother” of three teenage boys had this to say about Kleenex.

THIS ONE IS SO good, you’ll want to believe it’s real.

This Amazon review has captured the hearts of people worldwide – it details “a mother’s struggle” to keep her house stocked with tissues, as she has three sons who go through a great deal of them for, ahem, personal reasons.

I have three reasons for needing so much Kleenex, and their names are Liam, Samuel and Hank.
If I don’t supply absorbent paper products, I’m going to find my dish towels hidden in the basement, stiff as aluminium. The other day, I almost cut my hand on a sock. I am sorry to speak so frankly, but with three teenage boys, a woman has got to be practical.

People rushed to offer their sympathies and empathise with the woman on Twitter, with some even wishing she was their mother:

Unfortunately, the review is not by a real-life struggling mother but James Thach, a children’s author who has become notorious for his spoof Amazon reviews. Take this one, about the spice cardamom, or this one, for an axe.

He’s also behind one of the reviews for the €30,000 TV, which lead him to be interviewed for US news channel CBS.

Do we wish a real mother wrote this review? Yes. Do we still think this guy’s a genius? Absolutely.
